Hardware Samplers & MPCs / Re: roland s- series samplers

Does anyone here still use the old 12-bit S-series samplers from Roland? Like the S-10, S-50, MKS-100, S-220, S-330, and W-30, before the 16-bit machines? I love the raw sound and workflow.

Yes yes.  I find it a useful tip (?) that Alchemy can do sample dump over MIDI to S-330 ... but as we know, W-30 cannot do sample dump over MIDI.  So, having an S-330 can be useful if you are also a W-30 user.  Use Alchemy with the S-330, then save to floppy, and load the floppy in the W-30, etc.

Hey,

I remember some threads on this forum for getting SP Remote working with OMS via a MIDI Manager driver, which were really a miracle... you might have to search for "Peavey" though, your topic spells it Peavy (no e) which is a typo.

Attached are various versions of SP Remote (windows and Mac) and the manual.  Enjoy

Note that SP Remote wants a regular Serial Port MIDI or MIDI Manager, and to make it work with OMS or USB MIDI you'll need to find the posts on here about getting the OMS Midi Manager driver going etc.  It's not easy!

Good luck

Mac OS 9 (Oct 1999) / Boss DR-880 OMS driver

Hello -- according to the documentation, there was a CD which came with the Boss DR-880 that would have MIDI drivers for Mac OS 9.  I don't have the CD... and Roland/Boss don't have Mac OS 9 downloads available for the BR-880.  Does anybody have these miraculous files somewhere??  I'm almost ready to try installing every Roland OMS USB MIDI driver I can download from their site, just to see if any of them work... but I guess this is not an emergency.
